Writers Need Readers!
First-year student? Grad student? Faculty? Staff member? All members of the Hofstra Community are welcome at the University Writing Center. You can meet face-to-face (or
online in real time) with one of our qualified tutors. Wherever you are in
your writing process—working toward a topic, developing your ideas, structuring
your argument, revising and polishing drafts—we can help.
The Hofstra University Writing Center will open for Fall Term 2012 on Monday 17 September.
To make an appointment, go to our website: Hofstra University Writing Center
On the light-blue menu bar, click on "SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT." (First-time users will need to fill out
the required information to register.) Then select the date and time for your
appointment . Fill out the from and at the bottom, be sure to select either
- No--Meet face-to-face at the Center
or
- Yes--Meet Online.
If you're meeting
face-to-face, just bring the paper/assignment with you to the Writing
Center.
If you are meeting
online, the tutor in the time-slot you have chosen will receive an email
informing her or him of the appointment. If you choose to meet online, you'll
need upload your paper to Google Docs prior to the appointment and log onto
your Google Docs account at the time of your appointment.

We will also accommodate walk-in appointments if we
have a free tutor.
